Beis Din Litigation
Robert W. Hirsh & Associates is one of a handful of law firms in the United States representing clients in orthodox rabbinical courts, i.e. Beis Din.
A Beis Din is an arbitration panel usually comprised of three rabbis who adjudicate disputes according to halacha, i.e., Jewish law. There are sitting Batei Din and ad hoc Batei Din which are chosen via zablah. In zablah, the three member panel is selected as follows: each side selects his/her representative, and the two representatives mutually select a third member. A Beis Din selected via zablah is charged with adjudicating disputes via halacha in the same manner as a sitting Beis Din.
The firm enjoys professional relationships with the following sitting Los Angeles area Batei Din: Rabbinical Council of California, Beth Din of Kehilla of Los Angeles; Kehillas Yitzhak Beis Din, West Coast Rabbinical Court, and Beth Din of Los Angeles.
Robert W. Hirsh's personal relationships with leading poskim, including Roshei Yeshiva throughout the United States, and the local rabbinate. These relationships assist the firm's clients in the Beis Din process.
Too often, lawyers representing clients before a Beis Din forget the necessity of having credible experts. Robert W. Hirsh & Associates' relationships and access to top tier experts, including economists, appraisers, and accountants, give its clients a considerable advantage over their adversaries. |
